Co-Founder, Legare Furniture
Howard Klion was most recently one of the founding partners of Legare Furniture. Legare specialized in the design, production, sales and distribution of FunToAssemble Furniture. He was in charge of sales and marketing for the company, which sold to a wide range of customers from Pier One, to Walmart, to Amazon in addition to a large international customer base. While Mr. Klion spent most of his time on the sales and marketing end of the business, he also spent considerable time in China helping with the sourcing and overseeing the production of the company’s unique product line. The company was recently sold. Prior to his experience at Legare, Mr. Klion served as the National Account Executive overseeing the sales of Bassett Furniture to J.C. Penney. During his twenty years with the company, Bassett sold over one billion dollars of furniture to J.C. Penney. At Bassett, Howard oversaw all aspects of the J.C. Penney business. In addition, for the last twenty years Howard has been a serial investor in a multitude of startup businesses. The businesses have ranged from biotech startups, to e-commerce platforms, to regular brick and mortar retail businesses. Howard graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a history degreee in 1978 and subsequently received his MBA from New York University in 1983 with a dual degree in marketing and finance.
